For Bonding Fresh (Plastic) Concrete to Old (Hardened) Concrete


DESCRIPTION

Epoxy.com Product #7SC Wet Concrete to Dry Epoxy Adhesive Binder - Slow Cure is a 100% solids high-mod epoxy adhesive used to bond fresh concrete to cured concrete, steel to fresh or hardened concrete, as a grout for anchor bolts, dowels and rebar, as a binder for epoxy concrete, and for bonding other dissimilar materials. It is similar to Epoxy.com Product #7 Wet Concrete to Dry Epoxy Adhesive Binder - Normal Cure, but with a slower cure to allow more time for concrete pours.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Surface Preparation

Surfaces to receive Epoxy.com Product #7SC Wet Concrete to Dry Epoxy Adhesive Binder - Slow Cure must be clean and sound. Remove all dirt, laitance, grease, curing compounds and other foreign matter by sandblasting, or mechanical abrasion. Remove water and dust from all surfaces with an oil-free air blast immediately prior to application of compound.

Mixing Instructions

Epoxy.com Product #7SC Wet Concrete to Dry Epoxy Adhesive Binder - Slow Cure must be 50° F or above at time of mixing.

Stir each component of Epoxy.com Product #7SC Wet Concrete to Dry Epoxy Adhesive Binder - Slow Cure separately before blending. Mix two parts by volume of part A with one part by volume of part B for three minutes with a slow speed electric drill motor equipped with a mixing paddle.

Application

To use Epoxy.com Product #7SC Wet Concrete to Dry Epoxy Adhesive Binder - Slow Cure to bond fresh concrete to cured concrete apply the mixed adhesive by brush, roller or spray over the clean, prepared surface at a thickness of approximately 20 mils.

*#7SC, when compared to normal setting epoxy resins
with 1/2 hour pot life at 70°F, should be tested at 7 days;
If specimens are cured at 90°F, they may be tested at 3 days.

Limitations

Temperature of substrate to receive Epoxy.com Product #7SC Wet Concrete to Dry Epoxy Adhesive Binder - Slow Cure must be above 50 F. If surface to be bonded is no longer tacky, it must be reprimed.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause eye or skin irritation. If contact occurs, wash immediately and seek medical help. Use safety glasses with side shields and wear protective rubber or polyethylene gloves.

CLEANING

All tools and equipment should be cleaned before the system gels. Use methyl ethyl ketone or any lacquer solvent.

If any product fails to meet this warranty, the liability of Epoxy.com will be limited to replacement of any non-conforming material if notice of such non-conformity is given to Epoxy.com  within the warranty period for the material (as indicated above), or within 1 year of the delivery of materials (whichever is sooner). Epoxy.com may in its discretion refund the price received by Epoxy.com in lieu of replacing the material. No customer, distributor, or representative of Epoxy.com is authorized to change or modify the published specifications of this warranty in any way. No one is authorized to make oral warranties on behalf of Epoxy.com. In order to obtain replacement or refund the customer must provide written notice containing full details of the non-conformity.
