DESCRIPTION

Epoxy High-Mod Gel Adhesive and Bonding Resin - Product #2006  is a 100% solids high-mod epoxy gel adhesive used for vertical and overhead bonding applications and structural repairs. Epoxy High-Mod Gel Adhesive and Bonding Resin - Product #2006 is also used as a grout for anchor bolts, dowels and rebar. Epoxy High-Mod Gel Adhesive and Bonding Resin - Product #2006 Meets ASTM C881 Requirements for Type I, Type II, Grade 3, Class B, C, D, E.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Surface Preparation

Before application of gel, surface to be bonded must be clean and sound. Remove all dirt, laitance, grease, curing compounds and other foreign matter by sandblasting, or mechanical abrasion. When performing repairs, remove all unsound concrete before repairing. See Epoxy Surface Preparation Procedures for more information.

Remove water and dust from all surfaces with an oil-free air blast immediately prior to application. Although damp surfaces will not deter the bond, all free and standing water must be removed before application begins.

Mixing Instructions

Temperature of Epoxy High-Mod Gel Adhesive and Bonding Resin - Product #2006 must be 50° F. or above at time of mixing. Stir each component separately, before blending. Mix 2 Parts A and 1Part B for three minutes with a low speed electrical drill equipped with a jiffy mixer or paddle. To prepare a mortar add one part by volume of clean, dry, well graded select sand to one part by volume of mixed epoxy.

Application

To apply Epoxy.com  Product #6 use a spatula, trowel or caulking gun.

Limitations

Use of solvents for thinning Epoxy.com Product #2006 will prevent proper cure. Temperature of substrate must be above 50°F. Age of new concrete must be a minimum of 28 days. Maximum thickness per lift for patching application is 1/2".

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause eye or skin irritation. If contact occurs, wash immediately and seek medical help. Use safety glasses with side shields and wear protective rubber or polyethylene gloves.

CLEANING

All tools and equipment should be cleaned before the system gels.Use toluene, Methyl ethyl ketone or any lacquer solvent.

Coverage

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

Epoxy High-Mod Gel Adhesive and Bonding Resin - Product #2006 is excellent against distilled water, most inorganic acids and alkalies and moderate against alcohols or aromatic solvents.

BONDING IRREGULAR SURFACES

Use the gel to bond two irregular surfaces together.

VERTICAL AND OVERHEAD REPAIRS

 For small cracks and shallow repairs, use the gel; for larger repairs use conjunction with silica. Trowel mixture into repair area.
